Hey y’all,
Wow that last week’s Saturn » Aries transit really hit me HARD. HBU?
I don’t know if I’ve ever in my life seen so much deeply personal resonance about an astro transit from so many friends and family members. Did you feel BIG RESET energy in the part of your chart that contains the Pisces/Aries cusp?
The Pisces/Aries cusp is that place between sleep and waking up, between the deep dream and the jolt of the alarm clock. I noticed that, for many, Saturn’s transit through the final degree of Pisces really brought closure and a sort of high-feeling to the deep work (and also struggle) that had been in progress since 2023 in the part of the chart where Pisces lives. This feeling of completion came in the form of dreaming about and initiating new possibilities in the part of the chart that contains Aries. For those I spoke with, when Saturn fully moved into Aries, that high/complete feeling dissolved and the reality of Saturn’s next assignment set in….
This closure/new assignment energy showed up for me for sure. I have Pisces/Aries on the cusp of the 8th/9th house, where I felt true closure to a period of struggle with shared resources (8th house stuff) through a vocalized initiation of new possibilities in the realm of travel, teaching and publishing (9th house stuff). For a family member of mine, this happened on the cusp of the 6th/7th house, when she experienced closure to a period of struggle in her daily routines (6th house) through active dreaming and initiating new possibilities in her partnerships (7th house). For a friend of mine, this happened on the 4th/5th house cusp, and she felt closure of a period of hard work in the realm of family and home (4th house) through an initiation of new dreams in the realm of creativity (5th house).
(Note: I use whole-sign houses, so if you use another house system, the Pisces/Aries cusp could occur in the same house, making the closure and initiation of new beginnings more subtle). I saw so many more examples of this that dramatically rose to the surface over the past week- did you experience any closure to feelings of struggle or soupiness through initiation of new possibilities?
If you missed it, I wrote some horoscopes for each rising sign about Saturn (and Neptune) in Aries- check it out here:
Saturn and Neptune in Aries: Rising Sign Horoscopes
Today at 11:35pm EDT, Saturn moves from the sign of Pisces the fish to Aries the ram. This is a huge transition for the planet known as the Father of Time: a shift from the womb to the world, from the primordial soup to the first single-celled organism, from a seed in the soil to a brave sprout breaking through and reaching for the sky.
This week, the energies shift to something a little less… karmic. - although we’re definitely still integrating the change of guard from Saturn in Pisces to Saturn in Aries. This week, we’re in the middle of Gemini season, this airy time of year when everything seems to feel lighter, faster, and more curious. Gemini loves questions more than answers. It moves quickly, connects ideas, tells stories, and shifts perspectives. It’s a time when we can start to see how the pieces fit together, not because we have everything figured out, but because we’re open to exploring.
This week is especially meaningful for that kind of exploration. There’s a New Moon in Gemini and a Mercury Cazimi also in Gemini. Both events could bring a refreshing feeling of clarity, invitation, and a strong push toward new beginnings around how we think, speak, learn, and share.
Let’s break it down.
This week in the Wheel of the Year:
MEDICINE WHEEL Direction: SOUTH
WUXING Element: FIRE
PAGAN Season: BELTANE (Mayday)
ZODIAC Season: GEMINI (May 20-June 20)
I’CHING Hexagram/HUMAN DESIGN Gate:
Monday: Gate 20 = Wind over Earth: Contemplation (Seeing), aka The Gate of THE NOW
Tuesday- Sunday: Gate 16 = Thunder over Earth: “Enthusiasm”, aka the Gate of SKILLS
MOON Phase: New Moon in Gemini (Gate 20)
PLANETARY dances:
Mercury enters Gemini (May 25)
Mercury Cazimi in Gemini (Gate 16)
Monday: The New Moon in Gemini In Human Design Gate 20: Presence
There’s something about this New Moon that feels like pausing on a quiet threshold because everything is about to shift, and we can feel it in our bones, even if the outer world hasn’t caught up yet.
On Monday, May 26, the Moon and Sun meet in Gemini, joining together in Gate 20 in Human Design, which is all about presence. I talked about Gate 20 in last week’s episode, but to recap, this energy is about understanding how to simply be here now, even when here is uncertain. This gate is called the Gate of the Now, and it carries this quiet power, deeply rooted in the moment. The energy of the new moon is tapping into the ability to witness without attachment, to speak only when it’s true, and to know when to stay still long enough for clarity to find you.
What makes this New Moon especially potent is that it’s not happening in isolation. Mercury is right there too, conjunct the New Moon in its home sign of Gemini, adding a layer of insight, dialogue, and a kind of mental aliveness to whatever is emerging. On this lunation, our inner voice is not only getting clearer, but it’s also getting more honest. This new moon, you might feel more in tune with what’s actually real right now, not what you think we should be feeling or saying or doing.
Behind the scenes but holding a quiet influence, Pluto in Aquarius is forming a trine to this lunation , which adds an element of depth, intensity, and a touch of transformation. Trines are harmonious, flowing aspects, so this isn’t overwhelming Pluto influence, but the slow-burn kind- the sense that when we speak from presence, when we choose to begin something small but meaningful, it has the power to ripple much further than we can see.
We’re also in a transitional moment in a bigger story: this is the last New Moon in Gemini that will be co-present with Jupiter in the same sign for over a decade. By the time the next New Moon in Gemini rolls around, Jupiter will have moved into Cancer. So this is a final spark of that first-flush energy between the Moon and Jupiter in Gemini, the bright, curious, expansive, idea-filled feeling that says: what if? What if I tried this new thing? What if I trusted what excites me? What if I let myself speak the truth of who I’m becoming, even if I don’t have all the right words yet?
There’s also something almost poetic about how this New Moon blends the reflective stillness of Gate 20 with the expressive possibility of Gemini, while Mercury, the planet of communication, sits at the table too. It suggests a shift from thinking about things to finally giving a clear voice to them. Through presence, through listening, through acknowledging something honest rising up inside that wants to be named before it fades.
This isn’t the kind of New Moon that demands a dramatic gesture or a big goal. It’s more like taking the deepest breath you’ve taken all day to reset, giving yourself a moment to check in with yourself and ask, “What feels real right now?” and “What am I ready to say yes to, even if it’s just a whisper?”
You don’t need to know the whole path yet. But this New Moon might show you the first sentence. And that’s enough to begin.
Friday: Mercury Cazimi in Gemini Gate 16: Skill and Expression

On Thursday May 30, Mercury moves into the heart of the Sun, a moment known as a cazimi. In astrology, this is a kind of rebirth for Mercury. It’s like it slips into the solar throne room and receives a transmission of light, clarity, and new purpose.
This cazimi is also happening in Gemini, but by Friday the sun and Mercury have moved from the presence of Gate 20 into Gate 16, known as the Gate of Skills. This gate is about practice, repetition, and confidence built through joyful engagement. It’s about doing something not to be perfect, but because you love the process of getting better.
In the I’Ching, Hexagram 16 is called "Enthusiasm" and is symbolized by thunder stirring over the earth, a rising energy that signals the readiness to act, perform, or express something that has been quietly building. It speaks to the power of aligned preparation, where genuine interest and devotion generate momentum. This isn’t excitement for its own sake, but a deeper form of readiness rooted in rhythm, repetition, and heartfelt commitment.
Located in the Throat Center in the Human Design bodygraph, Gate 16 carries this energy into the realm of communication and performance. It’s known as the Gate of Skills, drawing from the expression that comes through practice, through doing something again and again until it becomes a channel for your essence to flow through. It brings a drive to refine and share what you’re learning, and also holds a shadow: the hesitation that arises when you fear you’re not quite ready.
In the Gene Keys, this energy evolves from the shadow of Indifference, where one disconnects out of self-doubt or apathy, to the gift of Versatility, where skills are developed through open experimentation, and eventually to the siddhi of Mastery, where action and being are unified through deep embodiment. Altogether, Gate 16 invites you to lean into the things you love enough to practice, allowing joy and devotion to guide you toward refinement and meaningful expression.
So when Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication, gets reborn in this gate, it’s a pretty clear message: it’s time to speak, time to share, time to keep showing up for the things you care about, even if they’re still messy. Especially if they’re still messy.
The sun will transit through in the Gate of Skills from Tuesday through Sunday, and this Mercury Cazimi here is a beautifully enthusiastic moment within the cyclic dance between our bright solar star and the her closest planet. Mercury will be in Gemini from May 25th - June 8th, a great time to connect the dots between seemingly disparate parts of life, and to chat it up in line at the grocery store.
A Week for Real-Time Truth and Joyful Practice
Together, this New Moon and Mercury Cazimi are like a one-two punch of insight and invitation. The New Moon in Gemini’s Gate 20 asks us: what’s real right now? What can you see when you slow down enough to look?
Then from Tuesday to Sunday, Gate 16 follows up with: now that you see it — will you say it out loud? Will you try? Will you keep going, keep practicing, even if it’s awkward at first?
This isn’t a week to be perfect. It’s a week to be present, and to stay in motion.
If there’s something you’ve been thinking about starting (a creative project, a new habit, or a new way of expressing yourself) this is a beautiful moment to begin. You don’t need the whole plan. Just a first step. Just one honest sentence. And then another.
So that wraps up the weekly forecast.
Speaking of new beginnings: I’m 99% likely going to be changing up the format of these posts/ Cycles of Time Podcast starting next week.
I asked some of you already in the chat if you’d prefer the weekly forecasts OR for me to put out episdodes/posts about specific transits, and I got some feedback that specific transits would be better.
A couple of you cited being part of the “ADD generation” and I totally get it- my interwoven synthesis of multiple esoteric systems each week can get pretty lengthy! Thank you all who have stuck with me in these deep dives. I do think that I’m ready to do something fresh too, as much as I love the interconnections that arise from looking at the cycles all at once!
If you are feeling like “NO, KEEP THE WEEKLIES”- that’s cool too- but please speak now, or forever hold your peace!
If I make the shift I’m going to be publishing/releasing episodes that are much shorter… but you’ll be getting more notifications in your inbox.
Instead of weekly combination forecasts, I’m thinking of a post for:
Forecasts for each Calendar Month
The beginning of each Zodiac Season
Each Full and New Moon
Each Pagan Holy Day (Solstices, Equinoxes, Cross Quarter Days)
Each Seasonal/Elemental Shift (in Medicine Wheel/Wuxing Cycle)
Short mini-sodes when the sun enters a new Human Design Gate
Occasional major Astro-Transit Horoscopes, Like the one I just did on Saturn/Neptune
I want to know: which would you prefer?
A) Weekly forecasts
B) An episode for each relevant transit as it’s happening
Leave a comment or send me a DM to let me know!
Thanks for your input! I’m in the process of writing a book about the Cycles of Time (yay!) and I want to deliver the most digestible/interesting content to you, so your feedback matters.
Have a wonderful New Moon Cazimi week ahead!
